Taman Mini Indonesia Indah
Although Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is quite far to reach, it is a unique site to visit at least once. In fact, Museum Indonesia TMII is “a whole country in one park”. The park, which expands on 100-hectares, features full-scale traditional houses for each province of Indonesia. Regional handicrafts and clothing are also displayed, alongside a mini-scale Borobudur, a bird park and an orchid garden.
Sundays are the most crowded days of the week. However free performances are scheduled at around 10 am daily for the whole week. In the park you can also find museums, theaters and a cinema, however these facilities require additional entrance fees.

Taman Impian Jaya Ancol
Taman Impian Jaya Ancol or also known as Jaya Ancol Dreamland is Jakarta's largest and most popular recreation park. There are some interesting attractions in Ancol complex, which are:

In the art market or Pasar Seni, you can find a variety collection of Indonesian handicrafts, paintings and souvenirs. You can also see an open-air theatre features live performances by local artists. There is a shuttle car provided for you who want to move around inside Ancol Bay.
The Atlantis Water Adventure consists various exciting pools, slides and water rides. You can also enjoy variety of local dishes on the poolside restaurant.
If you want to play and have some fun with your children, you can go to Dunia Fantasi or Fantasy World (Dufan) to experience many attractions including a thrilling cork screw roller coaster, adventurous flume rides, turbo tour simulators, bumper cars and other exciting fairground amusements. Dufan opens on Monday to Saturday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM.
You can also enjoy the Ancol Amusement Park. This 24-hour park has shops and other amusement centers, including an oceanarium with dolphin and sea lion shows (Ocean Dream Samudra), Ancol Golf, a race-car track (Ancol Circuit), and many more. This park opens on Saturday to Thursday from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM and Friday from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
If you want to see more than 4,000 fishes and sharks from 300 species, you can go to SeaWorld, the giant oceanarium in Ancol. You can enjoy the deep-sea panorama while strolling through an 80-meter tunnel. The fishes will be fed three times a day. SeaWorld opens on Monday to Saturday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM untul 9:00 PM.
Marina Ancol is a special port for yachts, motors, sail boats and the port of departure to Kepulauan Seribu or Thousand Islands resorts. You can enjoy the marine recreation and also some interesting beach facilities, such as water cycles, canoes, sail boats, fishing gear and many others.
For you who like to play golf, you can go to Ancol Golf (Padang Golf Jaya Ancol), the 18-hole plays to par 17 with a length of 6,501 meters. In Ancol Bay Area, you can rent a jet ski, sailing or visit Bidadari Island. And you can also go to one location near Pantai Carnaval, there are lots of restaurant that served local and international dishes. Its worth to try the seafood and Young Coconut Ice (Es Kelapa Muda) for the beverage.
Pantai Indah Kapuk
Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) is one of the most prestigious areas located in East Jakarta. This place is famous for its culinary, such as seafood and oriental dishes. Moreover, there are some exciting destinations for you and your family to have a good time. There are beach, Taman Wisata Hutan Mangrove, Waterboom PIK and some interesting culinary.
The beach in PIK is nice for you who love this kind of place. PIK has a port located on the back of Muara Angke Fish Market as the place of departure for the tourists who want to go to Kepulauan Seribu or Thousand Islands.
PIK also has a unique and beautiful park located in Muara Angke, the name is Taman Wisata Hutan Mangrove. This park has a beautiful and lush scenery. You can take a walk in the park and also rent a boat to enjoy the view over the water.
For those who love the water attractions, you can visit Waterboom PIK. Experience the excitement of the water rides and slides in this place, such as Speed Slide, Aqua Tube, Twizer Couple, The Hairpin and many more.
Moreover, you can also enjoy the great culinary in PIK. There are several interesting restaurants, lounges, seafood, chineese food and many more that you can enjoy with your friends or family.
Less than two hours driving, you can visit Puncak or the Peak, a mountain resort to breathe in the fresh mountain air during the weekend. With beautiful views overlooking the volcanic peaks of Salak, Gede and Pangrango and views of the green ricefields with a gurgling river.
On the top of the road, nearest the peak's highest point, you will find a restaurant/resort named Puncak Pass. It is the Netherlands old guesthouse which offers a panoramic view of the mountains and the largest tea plantation in West Java, Gunung Mas tea plantation. This restaurant still offers outstanding Dutch menu such as Bitterballen, Garnalen Sla, Erwtensoep, Dutch Beef Steak, Poffertjes and Pannekoek. Along the spacious area with the cool air, you can find some tea pickers who are doing their job.
About 4 km down the Puncak Pass, you will find Cibodas, an extension of the Bogor Botanical Gardens, which is specially built for growing subtropical plants. This garden has a collection of 1,293 species of plants, 144 species of moss and 1,826 herbarium. There are some collections of Indonesia, Japan and China in the Rhododendron Gardens, such as cherry blossom or sakura garden and also the collection from Himalayas. The best time to see the flowers bloom is from January to February or between August and September.
If you are going to Cisarua, you can visit Taman Safari (Safari Park) where you will find the tiger, lion, zebra and giraffe roam freely. You can get around and feed the animals through the window of your car.
